Preserving Traditions Wish List

We would like to outfit the Pittsfield Grange kitchen with durable, high-quality cookware that may be shared by all members. The items on our wishlist (click the button below) below are of particular interest. If you purchase them from Amazon.com, they will be shipped directly to us - or, if you prefer buying from a local merchant (which we HIGHLY recommend), you can contact us at preservetrad-email to arrange delivery.

We do accept donations of used kitchenware in excellent condition if it meets our needs for type of item, construction, etc. Please contact us via e-mail to see if we need your spares. Keep in mind, if it's not something you'd be happy using at home (broken, missing handles, dull blades, thin-bottomed pots, nearly worn out, etc.), we probably won't be able to use it, either.

  • Three or four stainless steel or enamel colanders with feet (the kind that stand on their own in the sink)
  • Ten to twelve stainless steel mixing bowls, 4- to 8-quart size
  • Two large (12" diameter, 2-3" deep), heavy-duty frying pans; stainless steel, adonized (Calphalon), or non-stick
  • Several very large food storage containers with lids (3-5 gallon) for holding cleaned produce (food service type; either flat pans or cylindrical)
  • One or two kraut hoebel / cabbage slicers (not the typical 5" wide mandolin - needs to hold at least one whole head of cabbage)
  • A hand-crank pea sheller machine
  • Very good, sharp steel knives - chef's knife and paring knife styles
